Mission complete! We were fortunate with the weather, little wind, one heavy rain shower and moderate temperatures. The route passed through beautiful Cheshire countryside, Delamere Forest and the lovely old town of Nantwich. We completed what turned out to be 101.4 miles in 8 1/4 hours and the funny thing was that it hadn’t turned out to be that much of a challenge so I am sorry if I misled you into supporting me out of sympathy. Tamsin and I, pedalling on our hybrids, were quite proud of ourselves towards the end when we were overtaking young chaps on light road bikes! Antony was as usual always out ahead anyway.
Thank you all so much. By the way there is still an opportunity to donate if you haven't done so already
Tamsin and Antony are great fundraisers, so when they told me that they were doing the Manchester 100 there was a challenge! The event as a whole is in aid of The Christie and I thought "why not pay back something for 17 days care in a private en suite room with wi fi thrown in?" That's me in a comfy chair there in November 2012. My page is actually for the Christie but I will be very happy if you donate to Tamsin's page for Myeloma UK
The Christie did the business for me and Myeloma UK's website helped carry me along the journey. Please support one of these charities.
